Each year Friends of Scouting works to support the mission of Troop 561. Your support will make a difference to the youth of our area. Our Scouts have benefited greatly thanks to donations made to the Troop. This is your opportunity to support the character-building mission of Troop 561. These donations can be in the form of money, gift cards, tickets, promotional items to give for raffle baskets for our fundraising events and sponsorship.
July 4thCedar Lake Car Show where our Scouts sell coffee, doughnuts, hot dogs, hamburgers, polish sausage, chips, and pop.
September 9th Bowling Fundraiser where we we are in search of sponsors for lanes,
raffle prizes, gift baskets, and bowling.
We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. Thank you for your time and donations that makes this possible!
The Friends of Troop 561 are excited about our growing Scouting program. Since 1993 Troop 561 has produced 60 scouts that have reached the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Becoming an Eagle takes years of hard work, service, and determination. This prestigious milestone is recognized around the world. Eleven of the Twelve men who have walked on the moon are Eagle Scouts.
Many of our Scouts are planning on heading to Boy Scout Jamboree this summer. They will be camping for two weeks in West Virginia with Scouts from all over the United States. Next Summer our Scouts will have the opportunity to go down to Florida for Sea Base. The Scouts will live and work on a ship for a week. Some Scouts will attend National Youth Leadership Training [NYLT]. This is a week-long program that gives youth the tools to be tomorrows leaders. We have used previous donations to keep our troop trailer in top shape and stocked with the necessities to ensure every scout can have the best experiences while camping.
To help our Scouts to reach this level we must remain a very active troop. Your donation would greatly be appreciated as some are not able to attend these programs and have these experiences as their families cannot afford the total cost associated with these events.
